(INFO) Founded in 1911 by the Invalidendank bank association, it was one of Vienna's earliest storefront cinemas. From 1966 it specialised in revivals of pre- and post-war film classics, becoming a Viennese institution. At the end of 2019 the house closed after more than a hundred years. Following extensive renovation it reopened in April 2026 as a modern arthouse and classics cinema.

During the renovation, around a hundred hand-painted film posters from the 1930s were discovered in the attic.
