(INFO) The Haydn cinema opened in 1917 on the ground floor and basement of a coffeehouse on Mariahilfer Straße; its first licensee was Maria von Ujj. Until 1938 it belonged to the Jewish businessman Bela Honig, before being 'Aryanized' by the Nazis and restituted to the Honig family in 1950. Over the decades it grew to several screens and operates today as an English-language cinema.

One of the few Viennese cinemas in continuous operation since 1917, today established as an English-language original-version cinema.
