(INFO) On Parkring, the audience shares one large screen: 736 seats and the architecture of a premiere cinema built in 1960. Gartenbaukino is a central venue for the Viennale, with premieres, film seasons and late-night screenings.
Its story began in 1919 with a cinema in the Horticultural Society’s palace. The present cinema was built in 1960, received heritage protection in 2018 and underwent a full renovation in 2021.
